Which Restaurants Accept the Disney Dining Plans?
The Disney Dining Plans include virtually every quick-service and table-service restaurant on Disney World property. For the exact list, and to find out how many dining credits are required for each meal, visit the Dining Plan Locations page.
Is the Disney Dining Plan Worth It?
The short answer is “It Depends.” The value of the Dining Plans depends on where and what you eat. After crunching the numbers, I feel comfortable saying that you will not lose money with the Disney Quick-Service or Disney Dining Plan. You might not save money either, but if you use all your entitlements, you should at least break even.
On the Deluxe Dining Plan, you will lose money unless you eat at least two table-service meals or one signature dining meal each day. Keep in mind that on the Deluxe Dining Plan, most of those meals include an appetizer, meal, and dessert. That is a LOT of food.
How to Place a Food Order on a Disney Dining Plan
I’m determined to teach guests how to do Disney dining the right way, so here are tips for ordering food when you are on a Disney Dining Plan.
At Disney Table-Service Restaurants
Check in at the restaurant at least 15 minutes before your dining reservation time. Inform the wait staff that you are on the Dining Plan. They will help steer you toward menu items included in the plan, and let you know if you choose an item that isn’t on the Dining Plan.
Theme Park Quick-Service Restaurants
At most of the quick-service restaurants in the theme parks, you will order your meals from a cashier. Please tell the cashier you are on the dining plan BEFORE you start your order. They will make sure that you order the appropriate items and that you do not forget anything.
Resort Quick-Service Restaurants
At most resorts, you will gather your food items before approaching the cashier. Please tell the cashier you are on the dining plan. They will let you know if you have chosen the correct items and if you will incur any additional costs.
Disney Dining Plan Tips & Tricks
- All of your dining credits are credited to your room at check in, and they expire at midnight on the day you check out.
- The Disney Dining Plans do NOT operate on a per-day or per-person basis. You can use as many or as few dining credits as you want each day. The dining credits also aren’t divided by person. So one guest can use all the snack credits if you want.
- Tikes under 3-years-old are not included in the Disney Dining Plans. If you are at a buffet or family-style restaurant, they are free to have a plate of food. However, at traditional table-service restaurants and quick-service restaurants, you will have to pay if you order them a separate meal
- Kids age 3-9 MUST order from the children’s menu at table-service restaurants.
- Go ahead and splurge for the steak. It costs the same number of dining credits as the less expensive entrees.
- Refillable Mugs may only be used at your resort. You can not use the cups to get drinks in the theme parks, water parks, or at Disney Springs.
