Without any hesitations, I cast my vote for Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party during the 2016 election.
Why I’m With Her:
I Believe in a Woman’s Right to Choose
Reproductive rights are the cornerstone of women’s equal rights. If a woman does not have the right to make decisions about her body, she will never achieve equality with men.
I Believe in Access to Affordable Health Care
I believe that ALL citizens should have access to good, affordable healthcare. The American system of private insurers and for-profit pharmaceuticals has failed, and it is time for the government to fix it.
I Will Not Tolerate Discrimination
Placing restrictions on a group of people based on their race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, or culture is discrimination. Discrimination is immoral, and it is wrong. I support a party that actively works to fight discrimination rather than encourage it.
I Believe in Gun Control
I believe there is no place or need in a civilized nation for weapons designed solely for the purpose of quickly killing lots of people.
Climate Change is Real
I won’t qualify that statement by saying “I believe” climate change is real. Climate change isn’t a belief or an opinion. Climate Change is a fact. It is the responsibility of the United States to do everything they can to minimize our nation’s adverse effect on our climate.
I Believe in the Freedom of the Press
In a Democracy, it is essential for the Press to have unfettered access to the president. Checks and balances are what keep us from becoming a tyranny.
I Believe in a Three Branch Government
Our founders built our government on the checks and balances provided by three branches of government – Presidential, Legislative, and Judicial. When a single party refuses to a appoint a Supreme Court Justice, they put our democracy at risk.
I Believe in Immigration
I believe that the United States should continue to be the great melting pot and accept immigrants from all countries. Our diversity is what makes us great.
I Believe in the Future
The only constant is change. Our government needs to progress and move forward. It can not stand still, or even worse, move backward.
